Connecting your world

As a Construction Logistics Advisor, you play a pivotal role in enabling the successful delivery of some of Schiphol’s largest and most complex construction and infrastructure programmes. Operating at the intersection of project delivery and airport operations, you develop strategic construction logistics frameworks, provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary project teams, and ensure that projects can be executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption. You also oversee the Logistics Hub, the central nerve centre for construction logistics within Major Projects, driving coordination, control, and operational excellence across multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously.   • developing programme-wide construction logistics strategies, logistical requirements, and execution frameworks for complex construction and infrastructure projects across Schiphol, ensuring projects can be delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption.
  • advising project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle on site logistics, transport flows, access routes, storage facilities, lifting operations, equipment movements, and logistical risks, enabling informed decisions in increasingly complex project environments.
  • aligning logistical plans with contractors, project leadership, airport operations, security, safety teams, and other key stakeholders to minimise operational impact and ensure seamless integration between project execution and the airport's day-to-day activities.
  • reviewing and challenging logistics plans and delivery scenarios against criteria such as safety, constructability, operational impact, capacity, scheduling, and alignment with other projects and operational processes, safeguarding the successful delivery of major programmes.
  • managing the Logistic Hub and associated facility management contracts, including transportation services, catering, security, cleaning, and reception services, ensuring all users are optimally supported and logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.

 

You will join at a pivotal moment as Delivery Services is being established as a new centre of expertise within Major Projects. This gives you the opportunity to play a leading role in further professionalising construction logistics at Schiphol and helping define how large-scale projects are delivered in one of Europe’s most complex operational environments. The role offers an exciting next step for experienced project managers and senior logistics professionals looking to expand their impact within complex programmes and large-scale infrastructure developments. You will contribute to projects with timelines of up to ten years, involving hundreds of professionals and carrying direct influence on daily airport operations.This is a role where strategic advisory, high-level stakeholder management, and operational leadership come together, offering the scale, complexity, and visibility that ambitious senior professionals are looking for.

Schiphol Infrastructure

At Schiphol Infrastructure, we design, build, and manage all the physical and digital assets of Schiphol. This is our contribution to Schiphol's ambition to be a high-quality and sustainable airport. With over 800 colleagues, we will deliver more projects and address maintenance backlogs in the coming years, together with our chain partners. We improve working conditions through the use of robots and lifting aids, electrify assets on the airside, and renew and make crucial parts such as the C-pier, baggage basement, and climate systems more sustainable. At the same time, we resolve malfunctions and make well-considered investment choices to prepare our infrastructure for the future.

  • a completed Master’s degree (MSc) in Logistics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, or a comparable technical discipline with a minimum of 10 years’ experience within complex construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments, gained in roles such as Construction Logistics, Project Management, Delivery Management, Site Operations, or similar large-scale programme settings.
  • proven expertise in developing construction logistics strategies, delivery frameworks, and integrated logistics risk management approaches for complex projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and operationally viable execution.
  • strong stakeholder management experience within multidisciplinary project environments, bringing together contractors, client organisations, operational stakeholders, and multiple delivery partners while managing complex interdependencies and competing interests.
  • a highly analytical mindset combined with strong relationship-building skills, enabling you to translate complex logistical challenges into practical, widely supported solutions that create value for both project teams and operational stakeholders.
  • experience with contract management, supplier performance management, or facility services environments is considered an advantage, particularly within complex, operationally critical organisations.
